We will be celebrating the following holidays with a small party: Harvest, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentine’s Day, and Easter. During these parties the “celebration” will be emphasized rather than the sweets. However, we will be making some “special” nutritious snacks with the children. Instead of celebrating Halloween, we will be celebrating with a Harvest Party and ask that you do not send your child in a costume. Games such as “Pin the nose on the Pumpkin” will be played. At Thanksgiving we will be baking bread or muffins in school, and making fruit or vegetable salads and other food to go with the Thanksgiving lunch we will be having. (We will be enlisting the parents’ help for this.) The children will wear the pilgrim hats and Native American Headbands they make. These are just a few examples of the holiday fun DaySpring children will experience.
