Open House:

DaySpring Child Care Center has an annual Open House in March. This year it is scheduled for Wednesday, March 7th from 9:30AM to 11:00AM. During this time, parents can meet the teachers and view the classes and the children. Parents are also given the opportunity to talk with the Director and to peruse the A BEKA curriculum.

Orientation Night:

Orientation night will be Tuesday, August 2nd , 2011, from 7:30PM to 8:30PM. As a state licensed child care center, it is a state requirement that we conduct this meeting. It is mandatory that at least one parent/ guardian of each child be represented at the meeting. The director will be going over school policies, and will be presenting each family with a parent handbook.

Parent Conferences:

You may talk with teachers at any appropriate time by request (except during daily scheduled Story, Music, and Lesson times), or during regularly scheduled Parent Conference times. Staff members are given administrative time between 1:00 and 3:00PM. Therefore, this would be the best time to call or stop in to speak with the teacher or director. However, parents may arrange conferences at other times.

Parties:

We will be celebrating the following holidays with a small party: Harvest, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentine's Day, and Easter. For these parties, the "celebration" will be emphasized rather than the sweets. However, we will be making some "special" nutritious snacks with the children. For Halloween, we will be having a Harvest Party. Please do not send your child in a costume. Games such as "Pin the nose on the Pumpkin" and bobbing for apples will be played. At Thanksgiving we will be baking bread or muffins in school, and making fruit or vegetable salads and other food to go with the Thanksgiving lunch we will be having. (We will be enlisting the parents' help for this.) The children will wear the pilgrim hats and Indian headbands they have made. These are just a few examples of the holiday fun we have.

Marvelous Monday and Festive Friday:

DaySpring offers a hot meal complete with beverage and dessert for $2.00 each Monday and Friday. The order forms are placed in the cubbies the beginning of every month. All forms, with the appropriate monies, must be put in the tuition box by Wednesday. Notices will be sent out the 3rd week of each month. Marvelous Monday and Festive Friday monies should be cash, in an envelope labeled with your child's name, must be separate from tuition, and placed in the tuition box. Any profit received from this fundraiser helps to purchase needed equipment, supplies, or toys that directly benefit your child.

Birthdays:

If you want your child to celebrate his/her birthday in school, you may notify the teacher two weeks in advance about the simple snack you will be bringing. If you would like to participate in or contribute to any of the school parties, please ask the teachers about it ahead of time. A popular choice is having a pizza party or serving pound cake with ice cream.
